Assuming consciousness is an amalgam of chemical and electrical signals, would the transfer of my consciousness to a machine disrupt these signals — killing the original me in the process? How can we prevent death when uploading?
You, as a Soul, would remain and a copy of your consciousness-database would also reside on the receptacle. This is absurdly difficult to carry off, because your consciousness is always expanding and growing. The uploaded version would have to do the same and at the same rate and in the same direction.
Consciousness is energy and information, the same ingredients that comprise the entire Universe. It is awareness that too large and variable to be uploaded. Only pieces of it may be one day, for whatever purpose that would serve.
