What's the reality of Simpson cartoon?

6/9/2019

The Simpsons show us a family of unique characters that all have their quirks, funny flaws, and lovable moments. This is a very good representation of a happy family that co-exists and accepts each other’s strengths, shortcomings, and silliness.

The Simpsons represents how humor throughout the day makes everything colorful, bright, and light. Yet, buried within all this humor and fun, we have some profound statements:

Homer: “It takes two to lie. One to lie, and one to listen.”
—Homer was addressing Marge and letting her know he was not participating in her lie. If you let someone lie to you, you are part of the lie.

Mrs. Krabappel: “Most of you will never fall in love, and will marry out of fear of dying alone.”
—We hope that isn’t true but we have seen too many examples to write off this bit of wisdom.

Security systems salesman: “But surely you can’t put a price on family.”
Homer: “I wouldn’t have thought so either, but here we are.”
—Homer, who can’t afford a security system, buys a gun. He would like to be able to afford better. He is talking about the many fathers would like to protect their families in the best possible way but can’t afford to.

Homer: “Facts are meaningless. You can use facts to prove anything that’s even remotely true. Facts schmacts.”
—We all know of cases where people twist facts to suit their purposes, so Homer is right on target there too. You can say, “All dogs have hair. My cat has hair. Therefore, my cat is a dog.” It sounds factual, but, clearly, it is not.

These are just a few of the gems of wisdom from the Simpsons about the reality of family and social life in our times.

What's your view about the movie ''The Pursuit of Happyness”?

This is a true story about Chris Gardner who worked his way out of homelessness to provide financial security for himself and his son through his resourcefulness and love. It shows that happiness (intentionally spelled Happyness from the graffiti in one scene) does not come to you if you sit back and take the victim’s path. His wife left him, his money was gone, he and his son were sleeping in the train station bathroom. But he would not let his circumstances defeat him.

In some cases we need to be brought to our knees before we can climb the ladder to abiding bliss. In his rise from homelessness Gardner went through many defeats. But crying about the rotten deal Life had dealt him was not his the way out. Intending to express his talents and abilities while loving and believing in what he was doing was his way.

The US Constitution states that everyone is entitled to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. This is a very wise provision, specified by the Founding Fathers. It is also a very spiritual statement. Happiness itself is the path to more happiness, for in a universe where like attracts like, miserable vibrations only attract more of the same. Whereas, if you insist on happiness as your path, it is of benefit to everyone around you because happy people do no inflict misery on others.

What are your views regarding the statement "Lunacy is a stage of optimum consciousness"?

5/25/2017

In the book and film, The Peaceful Warrior, Dan Millman says to his mentor and spiritual guide Socrates, “You're out of your mind!” Socrates answers, “And it's taken me a lifetime of practice.”

What Socrates means here is that he is not being driven anymore by his dysfunctional, “rational” mind that brings so much turmoil and misery. He has stopped thinking that he is this ego-mind, he does not identify with it, and has gotten in touch with a higher state of consciousness, his soul.

This is different from the lunatics who are so controlled by their fearful and flawed ego-minds that they behave in ways that are harmful to themselves and alarming to others. That is the madness of being under the sway of a delusional brain system and it is in no way optimal.

The form of lunacy that demonstrates optimum consciousness is that of rising above the twists and turns of the fear-based mind and delving into the peace of the next level of consciousness. In that sense, it is a great thing to lose our minds.

What is the meaning of the song "City of Stars" by La La Land?

City of stars Are you shining just for me?:
  • We personalize the universe and think that it is all happening for us. In one sense it is, because we are an inseparable part of the universe.
City of stars There's so much that I can't see. Who knows?:
  • We are limited by our physical senses and this is frustrating to us. We want to be able to predict the future and make it secure and certain. But there are too many variables and we cannot really know.
I felt it from the first embrace I shared with you That now our dreams They've finally come true
  • This is what happens when we encounter our soul mate. The inner loneliness that makes us feel like we are half of something is gone and we have now found the other half that makes us feel whole.
City of stars Just one thing everybody wants There in the bars And through the smokescreen of the crowded restaurants It's love
  • The city is busy with people who are desperate for love, though they dull their emotions through drinking and eating at the “in” places, they all are like little children, looking for love and affection, warmth and closeness.
Yes, all we're looking for is love from someone else
A rush
A glance
A touch
A dance
A look in somebody's eyes
To light up the skies
To open the world and send it reeling
A voice that says, I'll be here
And you'll be alright
  • The point here is that we are not finding love within ourselves. We are looking outside ourselves for a sense of completeness. This may be a doomed effort because we must love ourselves deeply and sincerely first. We must cherish ourselves and find that peace within. Because no one will ever be able to do that for you.
I don't care if I know
Just where I will go
'Cause all that I need is this crazy feeling
A rat-tat-tat on my heart
  • It’s exhilarating to fall in love and be in love. It feels so good to know that someone cares and also excites you. This rush can be addicting like any other drug. And like a drug, when it is withdrawn, it hurts.
Think I want it to stay
City of stars
Are you shining just for me?
City of stars
You never shined so brightly
  • Being in love makes all things feel new, fresh, and full of exciting possibilities. We want to stay in that state forever. It is wonderful and miraculous!

Where do you think we go once we pass away?

2/24/2017

We go into the pure non-physical. We are mostly non-physical even when we are in our physical bodies now. We consist of many energy fields, which are invisible to our perceptual senses but are there nonetheless. These are spiritual fields in which no earthly problems exist.

When we pass away to the Other Side, we then dwell in the pure positive energy of the non-physical us, along with other souls who have passed. This is a glorious state to be in, as anyone who has passed away and then returned reports. But if your soul still seeks additional growth, or if you have some karma to clean up, you may choose to come back into the physical and take up the challenges and fascinations of life again.
