Without spirituality, life is a biological march to the grave, with time in between to feed and breed to perpetuate the species. With spirituality, life is a journey of growth and expansion into fields of wonder and grandeur, potential and understanding. It is not easy to describe the spiritual life, as it eludes words and comes from within.
Spirituality is not outer-directed and does not find peace, joy, comfort, or fulfillment in things that are impermanent and easily destroyed. Spirituality is based on embracing underlying power that drives everything that exists, physical and non-physical. It is a consciousness of oneness with the presence and power of the Universe.
Through spirituality I am increasingly aware of the power of the Universe within me as the source of everything I desire and need for growth. I confidently call upon the Source to supply my every need. And it has worked for me. Without this sense of the underlying Presence of Eternal Source Energy, life would not be worth living. We would be no more than organisms that have fulfilled our purpose after we have procreated and repopulated the planet with more of our kind.
Fulfilling my biological destiny is not enough of a reason for me to bear the struggles and pains of physical existence. But with a spiritual point of view, I can transcend the difficulties and also find meaning in this amazing experience of life.
