As a child in Brazil, I regularly attended Voodoo religious services, went to Christian church, and then was taken to a Catholic church, all in the same day. This showed me, even as a young child, that people have a superstitious attitude and want to make sure they will get what they want by appeasing a number of entities from which they feel a vast separation.
