Meditation is not deep concentration on thought. That is contemplation. We take a thought to its logical conclusion or we solve a problem. Contemplation plays an important role in our lives, but it involves mostly the mind with a hint of the soul.
Meditation bypasses the mind and takes you into your Soul. It is there that you recognize a higher sense of being than that generated merely by thoughts, which can be mistaken, fallible, and even disturbing. When we get to the level of our Soul, we experience “The peace of God, which passeth understanding.”
