Nature is not meant to be conquered, but respected, admired, loved; to be marveled at, and to be left alone. It was operating very well before humans appeared on the earth. Humans came along and eventually decided it was a good idea to conquer nature.
Co-existing with nature is a better idea, instead of wishing to subdue it under our will. It is an unfortunate outgrowth of the human ego that we feel we need to show our manliness through conquering animals, people, and the land.
Nature will not let us conquer it. Anyone who does not respect this will find out in fatal ways. People who go for a swim in a tsunami have the egoistic pride to think they are more powerful than nature.
But if we embrace nature with awe, its rewards are endless.
