I was 12 years old and had been reading about satori and nirvana from books I had sent away for. Of course, words can only hint at these experiences of enlightenment and I wasn’t really sure about what they meant. I knew I wanted it but didn’t know how to go about it.
I went for a walk near the ocean. It was a bright, sunny afternoon. That is when time stood still for me. Everything was frozen in an ecstatic moment of infinite peace and intense joy. I stood still and allowed the waves of bliss wash over me. I felt what it was like to touch my soul.
At the time I didn’t know that I had bypassed my very active mind and was channeling the source energy of the Universe. I was just grateful that it had happened.
