We may attract people to us, but they are the people who can feel these desperate vibes and zero in on our insecurities. This has nothing to do with love and everything to do with exploitation. We may feel this kind of attention is love, but true love is much deeper than than. This kind of “love” is using each other for some purpose.
Instead of thinking about love a lot, thinking that someone is going to bring it to you, think instead about what you love about your life. Think about what you love about yourself. If there is something you don’t cherish about yourself, work on yourself to change it. Then you will attract love naturally.
You won’t be worried so much about someone bringing love to you to complete you. You will be too busy loving your life and the fun of it all to be obsessed with whether it happens or not. This is the vantage point from which we attract love that is meaningful and lasting: Mature, based on the heart, based on deeply caring about the other person, based on earned self-respect.
